La Luna Patisserie

“La Luna” is a coffee shop / patisserie serving a local residential neighborhood in the city of Ramallah, Palestine. It targets a variety of users ranging from working young adults, to stay-at-home moms meeting for a morning cup of coffee, to a group of book club members attending their weekly sessions in the evening. The range of users suggests diversified options for seating that are located in different areas of the shop to better suit the functional need. “La Luna” offers an extremely warm inviting environment for its customers, mainly impacted by the materials, colors and lighting of its interior. Architecturally, the coffee shop adopts a simple linear character with white paint, white tile or millwork applied to walls. On the other hand, loose items are composed of either recycled items as furniture, or upcycled pieces used as decoration; hence there is a harmonious contrast between modern and classical; new vs. old. The top floor holds both a flexible events space that could cater range of group sizes for workshops, and the main kitchen all the desserts are baked and stored in, as well as a small owner’s office.
